The Lincolnite – Siemens move at Teal Park officially completed

Siemens officially opened its new gas turbine service centre at Teal Park in Lincoln on Wednesday.

Feilden House, named after the late engineer Robert Feilden, consolidates Siemens service employees from other sites in Lincoln into a single location.

The centre includes a new workshop with a high-speed balancer, new modern offices and dedicated customer facility.

Around 600 employees will be located at Teal Park.

The centre has been developed to the highest possible specification and represents a major investment in the service business of around £15 million.

Fielden House has achieved BREAM “excellence” rating, making it the first building in Lincolnshire to get the accreditation, and one of a few in the UK.

The building includes photovoltaic panels on the workshop roof and controlled lighting for efficient energy management.

Siemens is also applying the principles of sustainable transport, and has included car sharing and its own electric car and cycle charging points into the complex.

There’s an additional expansion capacity of 135,000 sq ft, including the workshop area of 85,000 sq ft and office facility of 50,000 sq ft.

Neil Corner, director of service at Siemens in Lincoln, said: “Siemens is the largest private employer in Lincoln and employs around 1,600 people in its gas turbine manufacturing and service businesses.

“The business and city has been looking forward to this moment, which has been the product of much hard work and dedication by the Siemens team, St Modwen and many others too. We are extremely grateful to everyone who has been involved and to Lincolnshire County Council and North Kesteven District Council for their support in helping to bring this project to fruition.

“I believe we have created a new landmark in Lincoln with our development at Teal Park, which together with the other well-known features of the city including the Cathedral and university helps enhance the attractiveness of Lincolnshire as a centre of business excellence.”
